Which internship is right for me?
There are several things to take into account when deciding which internship you should do. It can be overwhelming to have so many options, so let's break it down.
Step 1: What are my interests?
Internships are generally categorized in four categories:
A: Hospital Medicine
B: Global/Public Health and Community Medicine
C: International Development and other non-health opportunities
D: Multicultural Health and Cultural Diversity
Look over this list and decide what you want to get out of your experience abroad.
Step 2: When do I want to go?
Global Health internships are during either spring and/or summer term. If you know which term you would like to spend abroad, this can be a great way to narrow down your options.
Step 3: How long do I want to be there?
Internships can run from 4-6 weeks. Additionally, some of the programs can be extended a week or two for an additional cost.
